How does your media product represent particular social groups?

This is the picture that is used on my front cover and then next to it is a picture I found from Attitude magazine that I think bares some similarities to the cover pic. They are the similar because firstly the way they are both dressed, in black tie suits, this shows a sense of style and fashion. Secondly, the angle of the photographs are both the same, they are both long shots showing the whole of the model's body.

The difference between the photographs are the attitude that the models give out. Will Young, from Attitude magazine is giving out a naughty, fun attitude where as my picture is serious and straight as I am not specifically targeting a gay audience like attitude magazine does.

My photo uses a subjective gaze to engage the audience more where as the Attitude picture is an objective gaze meaning the model isn't connecting with the reader.

The way I've represented my audience of males who are interested in fashion and music is to support this pro style attitude in the design and images I have used in my magazine. Everything in my magazine would reaffirm this style-conscious ideology.

I wouldn't have trouble attracting advertisers to the magazine because of it's pro-consumerist stance. Potential advertisers include, Topman, House of Fraser, Fred Perry, Lyle and Scott and River Island.
