Looking back at my preliminary task I feel that I have development the most in terms of technical skills. When taking my photographs I experimented with different studio lighting as I did with my preliminary task but with this project I used a range of techniques, positioning the light at different angles and brightness and I also experimented with what a white background would look like. To help me decide what layout to use I used style guides, by collecting images of covers from magazine I like and think would attract my target audience I then used these as a guideline to how I would lay my magazine out. This technique is different to how I designed my college magazine as when doing this I simply made it how I wanted it to be instead of thinking of what my audience would be attracted to. When deciding what fonts to use for my music magazine I decided to explore more fonts that were available on Photoshop, doing this made me find a font I think is ideal for my readers, whereas the fonts on my college magazine are only from photoshop and so they aren't necessarily what I wanted them to be. When thinking about how to address my audience in terms of the writing I don't think I have changed that much from the college magazine, I tried to reflect the audience in both. I used specific terms to call out to the reader for example for my college magazine I used the words 'party' and 'half term' but in my music magazine I used terms that would appeal to the bigger audience. I done much more research in this project so I could really underpin what the music magazine reader would want and in terms of what the reader wanted to see I got constant feedback to get the exact look whereas I done none of this for my college magazine.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?
